Medi-Cal NEMT reimbursement

The State Budget for Fiscal Year 2022-23 took effect on July 1, 2022, and because of CMTA’s government relations efforts, the Medi-Cal NEMT reimbursement increases listed below were achieved for CMTA members and the patients you transport.
w The 10% Medi-Cal reimbursement cut imposed by AB  97 of 2011 was rescinded.

w The supplemental Medi-Cal NEMT payments of $4.41 for Response to Call (A0130), and $0.33 per mile (A0380), that were being paid by Prop. 56 funds have been made a part of the on-going base payment rate paid from the General Fund.

w Again, these payment changes – including the 10% payment increase due to the AB 97 (of 2011) cuts being rescinded – are effective July 1, 2022 . . . and while these payment changes have not been posted to the Medi-Cal website or publicized in a formal provider bulletin yet, once that is done NEMT providers will be paid the difference owed to them via an Erroneous Payment Correction (EPC), with payments being retroactive to July 1, 2022.
